Chowder competition for River Festival

Winner for National Chowder Cook-OffA Seafood Chowder Competition will be a novel highlight event at the Kilcullen River Festival 2013 set for Sunday 25 August, writes Brian Byrne.

Local restaurants, as well as some from other towns in the area, have already signed up for the Competition, from which the winner will go to the 3rd National Chowder Cook-Off to be held in Kinsale.

Members of the public who attend the River Festival will be asked to judge the local competition after sampling chowders produced by the local contenders.
