KCA considers Kilcullen LAP submission

A number of premises listed for preservation on the Local Area Plan for Kilcullen no longer exist, the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action was told, writes Brian Byrne.

The matter came up in discussion on the 'Issues Paper' prepared by Kildare County Council in relation to the next Draft Local Area Plan for Kilcullen.

Niall McDonnell said he had previously informed the relevant Kildare County Council officials, by email and in person, of the fact that the 'Old Mill, the old Post Office, and other listed buildings' were no longer there. "But it made no difference, they were still there on the next draft," he said.

The meeting agreed that members would read the Issue Paper in relation to Kilcullen and decide on whether a submission will be made from KCA. Submissions from interested parties need to be made by 6 March.
