Community Alert request

A request to facilitate the setting up of Community Alert in Kilcullen has been made to Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne, following recent overnight disturbances during which an elderly resident's window was smashed on Main Street.

The matter was raised at the recent KCA meeting, where the concerns of the resident were outlined. In the same early morning incident, Christmas lights on the bridge were damaged, and subsequently didn't work.

During the discussion, the talks about Community Alert schemes at a Community Evening held last year were recalled. That meeting had resulted from concerns in the Community Survey and subsequent Community Development Plan, commissioned by KCA.

It was decided to discuss the issue with the organisers of the Community Evening and see where the alert scheme situation currently lies.
