Christmas tree lights up Friday

The town Christmas tree will officially be switched on this Friday at 6.30pm, writes Brian Byrne.

Organised by Kilcullen Community Action as part of the Christmas Lights project, all the lights will be on from mid-week, giving the town a festive look.

This year the tree will be located in the parkland in front of the former Cross & Passion Convent, taking advantage of the view through the new railings.

Santa is expected to put in a pre-Christmas appearance at the switch on. There are suggestions that some loud noise will accompany the celebrations, and residents are asked not to worry about this.
