Scouts host Seniors party
On Friday 15th November, the 9th Kildare Scout Group hosted our annual senior citizens party in Toughers, writes Group Leader Richard Reade.
With over 140 guests attending we had a fantastic night and our Scouts, Venturers and Scouters mixed freely with our guests; escorting them to their seats, chatting to some familiar faces and having a laugh.
Our night began with a traditional Turkey and Ham dinner, followed by some after dinner entertainment provided by some of the members of our Scout Group and then it was over to John and Terry for the music. I don't think I have ever seen the floor so packed; the Scouts and Venturers certainly had a ball and are already looking forward to the next time.
One of our guests remarked "I don't know how you do it—the flowers, the presents and the delicious meal, and most of all the polite boys and girls they were a delight to be with," and that is the highest compliment that could be paid to them.
