Graffiti at playground 'to be remedied'

The issue of graffiti at the Community Playground was raised at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.

Celia Travers said she had been in touch with Kildare County Council to see what products were available to remove graffiti, and she had been told that the Council will carry out remedial works shortly.

Grass cutting at the playground has since been carried out and the grass edges of the site along the fence sprayed to make maintenance easier.

On the matter of people using the playground inappropriately, the meeting agreed that KCA can't take on the actual policing of who uses it.

It was also agreed that day to day costs incurred by KCA members in the maintenance of the facility would be reimbursed by KCA and a statement of such expenses would be submitted to Kildare County Council for reimbursement to KCA at the end of the year.

JJ Warren said he would ask Ray Kelly if maintenance equipment could be stored at the Soccer Club premises in the Community Complex.
