Canoe Club update

Well done to all our paddlers who took part in our inter club races as part of the Kilcullen River Festival, writes Maria Wilmot of Kilcullen Canoe Club. Well done also to all our junior paddlers who took part in Paddlefest recently.

On the water training continues every weeknight from 7pm despite the limited light. Activities on offer include 'Newbie' nights (Mondays and Tuesdays), Polo (Thursdays) and Slalom on Fridays. Pool sessions are due to start soon. Keep an eye on the website for more details.

Congratulations to all Kilcullen Canoe Club paddlers who competed in recent races. Podium placings include:
* Lower Liffey ranking on the 9th September – Mary Fitzgerald, 1st in womens GP; Oisin Farrell, 1st in boys u18 GP; Bronagh Galvin, 1st in girls GP

Upcoming events include:
* 29th September – Liffey Descent.
* 13th October – Barrow Descent.
* 20th/21st October - Crana Canoe weekend, Buncrana.
* 21st October – Robertstown ranking race.
