Leaving Cert results day

LeavingCert12

There were smiles and tears, most of the latter of joy but occasionally a little disappointment, at this morning's release of the Leaving Cert results to students of CPC, writes Brian Byrne.

Kelly-Anne Ryan was first in, and very happy with her achievements. She plans to take a year out and will then do either Tourism Studies or Beauty Therapy.

Teachers were on hand to offer congratulations and support, and KildareTV was there to highlight what is probably the biggest day so far for the youngsters, the one representing their transition from secondary pupils to adulthood, whether it be to further education or the workplace.

Assistant principal Noel Clare said the results were very good, and that most students would have done at least as well as they hoped, and maybe a little better.

There were 105 Leaving Cert students this year at CPC.
