Bressie misses out on Ellie

Ellie McMahon, daughter of Maryclare McMahon who runs the Stage 2 Performing Arts School in Kilcullen, caused some excitement on the RTE talent show 'The Voice'—even though she didn't get to stay in the running.

At the blind audition section, the judges don't get to see the artists singing unless they are attracted enough by their voice to turn their chairs around and offer to take the performer on their team. If no judge turns around during the song, the singer doesn't go through.

According to reports, judge Bressie later confessed that 'I've missed out on pop star' when he turned at the end and actually saw Ellie, who is 19 and studying music in BIMM in Dublin.

Ellie has taught singing to 'Early Stages' in Stagecoach which is now called Stage 2. Phionagh Gibson was Ellie's singing teacher in CPC and she continues to teach along with classes in Stage 2 on Thursdays. Phone 045 480533 or check out www.stage2.ie for more information.
