Palestine awareness event raises €300
Last Sunday's Palestime Awareness event organised by the candidates for the John Paul II Awards raised some €300 in donations to help the people of Bethlehem, writes Brian Byrne.
The candidates are seven students at CPC, and the event also included a display of new-born baby sets made by the SUAS Knitting Group for a maternity hospital in Bethlehem.
A petition was also signed asking the US not to veto UN resolutions against the actions of Israeli authorities against Palestinian communities.
The full story will appear in next week's Kildare Nationalist.
