Anger at Kerdiffstown waste plan for Kilcullen

A resident near the KTK Greenstar waste facility has threatened to chain himself and his family to the gates of the facility if the EPA insists on KTK taking burned waste from Kerdiffstown.

The EPA has asked KTK Greenstar to accept the waste, possibly up to 10,000 tonnes, but Simon Durham says the company should just say no.

"We won't take this lying down," he warned while speaking to Clem Ryan on KFM radio this morning. "If I have to chain myself and my beautiful family to the gates, we will fight it."

He emphasised that KTK Greenstar has worked very well with the community over the last nine years, but said they would be committing a 'PR disaster' if they accepted the waste.
