Green flags for schools

Two local schools recently received their second Green Flags.

Scoil Bhride gained its second flag for energy conservation, and is now working on its third, for water conservation. Their flag was presented at a ceremony in Croke Park.

Brannoxtown NS also received its energy conservation flag and celebrated the event at the school just two years after getting its first Green Flag.

Children from 6th Class told fellow pupils and parents why the flag had been achieved, thanks to a programme that included simple things like turning off lights and computers.
