Botanists come to see tufa
A group of botanists and environmentalists recently visited Kilcullen's riverside Valley Park to examine deposits of tufa.
Tufa is a type of soft rock that occurs around limewater springs, which are common in the Valley.
The growths support a variety of mosses and liverworts.
The visit was expedited by wildlife ranger Roy Thompson, who lives in Kilcullen.
