Daylight robbery, attempted burglary
Two daylight incidents last Thursday are warnings for people in Kilcullen to be on their guard.
The first was an attempted burglary in a house at Logstown, when three men entered through a back door just before midday.
They were disturbed by occupants and left the scene without taking anything.
Gardai have descriptions of two of the burglars. Both are said to be Irish, one of them an estimated 6'1" and stocky, wearing a black leather jacket and a blue shirt. The other is 5'10" with tight blonde hair and wearing a dark jacket.
Later in the day, at 4pm, a woman was accosted by a man wearing a black balaclava in Market Square, brandishing what appeared to be a knife. He snatched her bag which had a sum of money.
The man is described as being about 5'7" and in his early 20s and was wearing a grey hoodie.
He escaped in a black Audi car for which there is a partial number 05 CE. It was driven by another man wearing a black baseball cap.
No arrests have been made. If anyone has further information they should contact An Garda in the first instance at Kilcullen Garda Station.
