Getting in place for the Rás

Preparations are well in hand for the big day on May 17 when the FBD Rás starts from Kilcullen in a historic first for the town.

Things will kick off at the Community Centre between 9am-11.30am where the riders will gather and will meet anyone who wants to come along.

A parade from the Square to the ceremonial starting point at Nolans will then take place, and the start time is set for 12 noon.

When the racers are gone, the Lions Club will hold their annual Duck Race fundraiser.

Other events over the weekend will include a display in the Heritage Centre of racing bicycles through the ages, and racing jerseys.
