Writers meet next Monday
The Kilcullen Writers Group meets again on Monday next, October 20.
The format for the sessions, which are held in An Tearman, has changed for this year. Instead of concentrating on writing exercises, participants are being encouraged to bring in their own work for presentation and discussion.
"We're two and a half years in existence now, and we feel the group is mature enough to have gone beyond the basic exercises stage," says Pauline Fagan, chairman of the KWG. "Most members are actively writing by now, and the meetings would be more useful as opportunities to bring this work to a forum where advice on improvement can be found."
The meetings start at 8pm, and new members are always welcome.
Over the last couple of years, the group has organised workshops on poetry and story-writing, as well as hosting two reading nights in the Town Hall Theatre in association with groups from Newbridge, Naas and Clane.
