The story itself is set in a school for young ladies and is run by Madame Dubonnet, the headmistress (Fiona Murphy). The girls attending the school include Maisie (Ellie McMahon), Fay (Niamh Corrigan), Dulcie (Orna Whyte) and Nancy (Fiona Shirran). All the girls have a boy to accompany them to the ball yet Polly Browne (Lisa Kennedy) is the only one who hasn’t a boyfriend. So in desperate need of a partner, she invents a boyfriend and pretends to get letters from him. However, it is not until she meets the messenger boy, Tony (Jack Scullion) from Gaston’s palace, that she realises that it's love at first sight and that she may have found a boyfriend.

The show is directed by Lucy Byrne, choreographed by Anne O’ Connell, the musical director is Brian Brady and the singing director is Phionagh Gibson. The show starts each night at 8pm and tickets are priced at €15 for Tuesday and Wednesday shows and €20 for Thursday night shows. Tickets are available from the school (045 481524).
