Parish business administrator

A proposal that a part-time Pastoral Assistant for Administration be provided to help with the running of Kilcullen parish has been made by parish priest Fr Michael Murphy.

Noting that during the next ten to 15 years, the number of priests working in the Archdiocese of Dublin will be less than half those here now, he said it is nevertheless hoped that there will still be a priest available 'in some capacity' to every parish.

Fr Murphy is proposing the employment of a Pastoral Assistant for Administration as a pilot project, part-time, for one year, so as to enable the priest to function for the purpose for which he was ordained.

"The problem is funding," he said at a recent mass. "If anyone has any ideas on how to fund such a person for one year please let us know."
