Bottles, cans levy sought

A call for the Government to put a levy on bottles and cans was made at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action.

Niall McDonnell made the remark in the context of work he had been doing in clearing rubbish from the Athy Road area. "It is a major problem," he said, adding that he had never seen so many bottles and cans discarded in the area and on the M9 motorway link.
