Boardwalk open
As the Market Square development heads towards completion, part of the boardwalk that's an integral section of the development is now open to the public. The rest will open soon.
The facility opens up a long part of the riverbank that was never available to local people, and when the new pedestrian bridge to the Valley is also erected, it will become part of a circular walk possibility. This will also help to cut down on problem activities in the park, with more walkers going through.
With the extra light crossing the river from the Market Square, it has been suggested to the Diary that the level of night-time problem activity has already diminished.
