Lecture on 'Earls' women

The Flight of the Earls -- Wives and Daughters is the subject of a lecture which will take place in Kilcullen Heritage Centre on Wednesday 3 October.

The talk will be given by Dr Mary Ann Lyons of St Patrick's College, Drumcondra. She will focus on the forgotten female dimension to the Flight of the Earls in 1607, an event that changed the course of Irish history.

The event is promoted by the County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups.
