Great day at vintage rally
There was a strong entry to the Vintage Rally held in Kilgowan on Sunday in aid of local multiple sclerosis victim Mary Keogh. Mary needs a specially adapted car. More than 17,000 euros was raised to date, and there are still sponsorship cards to come in.
More than 40 tractors tractors old and new were joined by around 30 veteran and vintage cars as well as over a dozen motorcycles. The rally took place from The Priory pub and concluded there with a charity auction, which alone raised 5,000 euros.
"It was a brilliant day," Thomas Wall of The Priory told the Diary. "More than 200 people turned up to the auction alone that evening, and the music played until 1.30 on Monday morning."
The event was very fortunate with the weather, which remained dry throughout.
