The passing of Joyce McHugh

The death of Joyce McHugh, after a short illness, has left a sense of profound sadness in the community.

Joyce and Aidan lived for more than 30 years in Kilcullen before moving to a new home Moatfield, Athy, just a couple of years ago. Aidan has for many years been involved with young people in fitness and coaching activities in the area, and with the Kilcullen Canoe Club. Whenever 'backup' was required to help with the social side of the club and the other activities, Joyce was always to the fore.

She was a truly dedicated mother to her family, Cormac, Laura, Louise, Fiona and Ciara, and her loss will be deeply felt by Aidan and their children as well as all her many friends in Kilcullen.

Joyce's removal from her residence will take place tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 11.30, arriving at St Michael's Cemetery, Athy, at 12 noon for burial. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, can be made to Cancer Research.
