Hillcrest residents work on estate

About 30 residents of Hillcrest turned out recently to help clear verges and cut bushes in the green areas in estate.

Meanwhile developer Pat Maginn, in reponse to requests from the Residents Assocation, has also carried out work on the green area to make to make it more suitable for its purpose. The site office has also been removed.

"There's still work to be done," says John Kinchella, chairman of the Hillcrest Residents Association. "The lighting in the estate and the car park needs to be finished, and there are details on road markings and traffic signs to be sorted."

He also expressed the ongoing concerns of residents on the difficulties of the exit from the estate and the design of the exit, which has recently been reconfigured.

"We still have problems with motorists parking beside the shop. What we need, I believe, is an island at the exit which won't leave room for people to park illegaly."
