The Passing of Jack Thompson

The Diary is saddened to hear of the unexpected death of John (Jack) Thompson of Knockaulin, Old Kilcullen.

Although 81 years of age, Jack was in good health, and attended Kilcullen Mart as usual on Wednesday, but became ill when he went home and sadly passed away.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Betty, son Robert and daughter Evelyn, and by the very many friends he had in the farming community and in and around Kilcullen.

He was a man to whom friends and neighbours were important, and in turn was a good neighbour to those who lived around him.

Jack's funeral will take place to Yellow Bog Church, arriving at 7pm tomorrow (Friday). Interment in the neighbouring cemetery will follow a service at 3pm Saturday.
