KCA to promote recycling

Kilcullen Community Action is undertaking a a promotion campaign to encourage more people to use the recycle facilities at Silliott Hill.

A series of articles in The Bridge magazine will detail what can be recycled at the facility, operated by Kildare County Council.

Noel Clare noted at a recent meeting of KCA that the town had received 13 extra marks out of a possible 20 in the 'Race Against Waste' element of the recent Tidy Towns competition.

"We got those simply because we sent in two reports on recycling from the schools," he said, adding that other towns had got no marks under the category because they hadn't submitted anything.
