First scrawls on the bridge
I suppose we were all hoping it wouldn't happen, but the first graffiti have appeared on the wooden railing capping on the bridge, which was refurbished at the end of last year to the tune of €120,000.
As we look at it, the vandal seems somewhat mathematically minded? Or are they some kind of cult messages?
There's also some cracking of the timber beginning to appear, near one of the joints.
During the consultation about the refurbishments, the community wanted new railings, but the Council refused that and a plan suggested that brass capping on the existing railings would improve them.
In the course of the work, it transpired that somebody had made a decision that timber would be used instead of brass.
