Application lodged for Harristown project
Naas developer Terry McGoff has lodged a planning application for a development at Harristown Demesne, Brannockstown, which was the subject of a packed meeting of local residents last week.
The meeting, with the developer and his architect present, was called subsequent to the recent AGM of Brannockstown Community Committee.
The project proposes a two-storey building which will incorporate a shop and a cafe, as well as two apartments.
The other elements of the development are two blocks of terraced homes, three in each block, as well as eight detached houses.
The planning application number is 06/581, and it was lodged on 29 March, the day after a public meeting in Brannockstown selected an Action Group of six people to examine the proposal in detail and bring recommendations to cover buildings style, road frontage, the preservation of the demesne wall, environment, and parking and landscaping.
Some 70 people attended the meeting, at which details of the proposed development were outlined by the developer and his architect, Neil Sholdice.
The meeting was described as 'lively', and concern was expressed by many speakers about aspects of the development.
The members of the Action Group are Amanda Hennesy, Dave Shanahan, Anthony Carter, Ian Sheil, Lance O'Brien and Sean Wall.
