Thanks for kidney support

The organisers of the recent Charity Bridge Night in aid of the kidney patient holiday home fund have thanked all those who gave cash, prizes, and their time to the event.

"The generosity in our community came to the surface yet again," Phena Birmingham told the Diary today, mentioning also those who transported tables, prepared and brought refreshments on the night.

"To date €2,400 has been raised, with promises of more to come. This is a very good result."

On the night, kidney research campaigner James Nolan stressed the need for organ donors, noting that by donating our organs we have the power to give the gift of life to others.

Donor cards are available from James in Nolan's butchers,in other shops and the Parish Centre.
