Jazz at Dunshane

An evening of cool jazz at Camphill Community in Dunshane will feature David McKenzie on violin and Josh Johnston on piano.

The date is Saturday May 14, at 8pm, and tickets are available on the night, or by phoning 045 483628, price €10.

'Surprises' are also promised by the pair, who are members of the RTE Symphony Orchestra.

David and Josh have been playing jazz together for the past two years. Their music takes the swing jazz of Stefan Grappelli and Django Reinhardt as a starting point but also draws on other jazz styles, original compositions and folk music from around the world.

Their album A Minor Happiness was released on CD last October, and the music ranges from blues to ballads, swing to latin. Seven of the tracks are David's original compositions
