Update on Relief Road

In relation to our story about the Kilcullen Relief Road yesterday, the Diary would like to point out the following:

There is no spokesman for the NRA named Deegan (there IS a Michael Egan).

There is no local radio station called KRFM (there IS a KFM).

There are no plans as far as we know for such a Relief Road (but wouldn't it be a good idea?).

Pat Dunlea DID run in a General Election on the issue of a Northern Link Road to the M9.

Kilmainham-Kilcullen Bridge WAS one of the most important official toll roads in the country back in the mid-18th century, operated by the Turnpike Trust to raise money for road building and maintenance.

Yesterday's date WAS April 1.
