Upgrade upramp, please?

A number of local roads design anomalies have been reported to Kilcullen Diary.

Among them is the poor design of the off-ramp from the M9 at Kilcullen, which is technically not supposed to take two lanes of traffic, but which in practice needs to be able to do so.

With the growth of Kilcullen in very recent years, there's a need for two lanes on the ramp, to cater for traffic going left to Kilcullen and right towards Athy.

The state of the left grass margin shows clearly that it has has been 'climbed on' by traffic needing to go towards Kilcullen while Athy-direction vehicles wait for a clear road,

Also, the lack of provision of a 'run-up' lane for Kilcullen-bound traffic once the ramp has been exited is said by a number of regular users to be poor planning. A matter which only needs a repainting of the lines in the area.

Kildare County Council is being made aware of this situation today.
