Kildare South TD Mark Wall has called for Kildare South to be a priority in the state’s pilot project for public childcare sites, writes Brian Byrne. This follows Minister Norma Foley’s announcement of seven sites for the early learning and childcare projects.
Deputy Wall highlighted the urgent need for more community and not-for-profit childcare facilities, especially in areas like Newbridge and Kilcullen, which are considered childcare deserts.
"Kildare has the lowest community childcare provision at 4%," he said, "with only eight providers."
