Litter effort ongoing

People who 'signed up' for regular Litter Patrol work 'need to be followed up' so that a work programme can be devised, Noel Clare told the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action.

Reporting on the success of the inaugural Litter Pick prior to the previous meeting, he said there is 'still a lot of work to do' at Avondale and on the school road.

"It's more than just litter — there are pockets of weeds that have to be dealt with, and spraying needs to be done."

J J Warren suggested that an advance survey be done to mark the 'trouble spots' before the next major Litter Pick takes place. This pick has now been set for 7.30 next Monday.

Kieran Forde noted that some of the estates have done their own cleanups, and he took the opportunity to commend the pebble beds at Moanbane and other estates at the north end of town, as 'looking very well'.
