The passing of Tony Cully
The Diary has learned of the death of Tony Cully, of Calverstown and late of Belfield, Gaybrook and Dublin, on 21 October 2025, peacefully, in the presence of his loving family and caring staff of the Curragh Ward, Naas General Hospital.
Predeceased by his wife Jean, son Aidan and 11 brothers and sisters, Tony will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Maura, son-in-law Larry, son Callistus and partner Jill, his grandchildren Laura, Emma and Jack, their husbands Rob and Fiachra and girlfriend Jade, his great grandson Donnacha, his sisters-in-law Kay and May, the extended Cully family, his neighbours and large circle of friends and all of his 'honorary' grandchildren.
He will repose in Calverstown (R56 AK19) from 6.30pm with prayers at 8pm today, Friday 24 October. His Funeral Mass is tomorrow, Saturday 25th, at 10.30am in Church of the Sacred Heart and St Brigid, Kilcullen (R56 R271), with funeral proceeding to Newland's Cross Crematorium at 1:30pm. As Tony brought so much colour and joy to those around him, the family invite everyone to wear bright colours in his honour.
Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, can be made to 'The Friends of Naas Hospital', for which there will be donation boxes in the house and church.
