The passing of Lily Deegan

The Diary has learned of the death of Elizabeth (Lily) Deegan (née Farrell), Mile Mill, Kilcullen, and formerly of Clough, Baltinglass, Co Wicklow, on 24 August 2025, suddenly at home, in her 90th year.

Predeceased by her loving husband John and brother Jim, Lily is sadly missed by her sister-in-law Maisie, brother-in-law Michael and his wife Dinah, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, relatives and friends.

She will be reposing at St Paul’s Oratory, Baltinglass (Eircode W91 Y796) on Wednesday evening from 5pm, concluding at 8pm. Her funeral will arrive at The Church of The Sacred Heart and St Brigid, Kilcullen, on Thursday morning for an 11am Requiem Mass, after which she will be laid to rest with John in St Brigid’s cemetery.
