The passing of Seanie Byrne

The Diary has learned of the death of Seán (Seánie) Byrne, Blackhall, Calverstownand formerly of Woods, Swinford, Co Mayo, peacefully, on 8 April 2025 at Naas General Hospital, in the company of his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents John and Delia, his sister Kathleen and his brother Tom, Seanie will be sadly missed by his loving wife Lydia (Lil) his devoted children Sinéad, John, Regina, Mark, JP, Cormac and Lydia, his sisters Mary, Carmel and Anne, his Brothers-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, his Sons-in-Law Seán and Conor, Daughters-in-Law Rosalie and Aishling, his 15 adored grandchildren Míah, Tiernan, Markie, Joanna, Conor, Tom, Seánie, Darcy, Ellen, Delia, Olivia, Emma, Jimmy, Conor Óg and Kate, his extended family and many good neighbours and friends.

He will be reposing at his daughter Lydia's residence (Eircode R56 V402) on Thursday 10th April from 4pm to 8pm with prayers at 7pm. Funeral arriving to the Church of SS Mary & Laurence, Crookstown, on Friday 11th April for requiem Mass at 1.30pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
