Young travel writer competition
Second level students in Kilcullen who like writing and travelling may be interested in taking part in a young travel writers competition for this summer, writes Brian Byrne.
It is part of the Immrama Festival of Travel Writing, which takes place in Lismore in Co Waterford between 13-17 June.
Under the title 'My favourite air journey and where it took me' participants are asked to submit an 800-word piece to the competition, the winners in which will receive an iPad Mini and an Amazon voucher.
There are two categories in the competition, in its third year and sponsored by Aer Lingus. The closing date for entries is 18 May and submissions can be made online here. The judges for the 2018 competition will be Stephen Kavanagh CEO Aer Lingus, Vickie Stevenson Director CX Emea at AirBnb, and Phil Cottier CEO of The CX Collection.
It is the 16th year of the Festival, and full programme details are available here or call 058 53803.
