Fundraising for Feile na nÓg
The Kilcullen GAA U14 Girls team will be busy over the next few weeks raising funds towards the costs of going to Féile na nÓg in Louth at the end of June, writes Dara Clarke.
First up, the girls will be holding a cake sale in the clubhouse between 10.30am– 12 noon, this Saturday 21 April, during juvenile training. The girls will bake the cakes and buns themselves but are hoping that people can help by bringing along some goodies or calling in to buy some treats.
During the cake sale, there will be tickets on sale for a raffle to be held later that evening at the Annual Social and Awards night, in The Hideout Bar on Saturday night from 8pm. There are some super prizes to be won, including an O’Neills football signed by the Kildare Team and enclosure tickets for Punchestown meeting.
Also, one of the highlights of the evening will be an auction of signed Kildare and Dublin 3-in-a-row All Ireland football jerseys. Bidding on the jerseys starts at €100, and if there is anyone interested who can’t make it to the auction on the new night, please contact Nick Egan (see details below). The Kilcullen girls are no strangers to 3-in-a-row themselves, with the previous U14’s Girls teams, having won the Féile A Kildare competition in 2016 and 2017 & completing the hat trick of wins in 2018.
All proceeds raised will go towards the costs of the Féile weekend, including the hire of a bus to transfer the panel to Louth and their various matches, team tracksuits for the panel, meals, first aid etc. In the girl’s competition, there will be over 46 host teams and 46 visitor teams travelling from across Ireland, Britain and North America, with over 6,000 children participating over the weekend. The Kilcullen girls are thrilled and excited to be getting the opportunity to be involved again this year.
Your support is very much appreciated for the above events. The team would also love to hear from any businesses that would like to make a contribution or become a sponsor.
