Albert wins national medal
Sunday morning, in tough and windy conditions in Dublin’s Phoenix Park, Albert Keenan ran a brilliant race to snatch a National Bronze medal in the Great Ireland run which incorporates the National Athletics 10k.
Albert is in the last year of this age category so was up against it but he battled his way to the line to claim 3rd and a National bronze.
This gives Albert a real boost of confidence to take with him to the European Masters Championships in Spain in mid May. At 69 years young, Albert will be making his Ireland debut and hopes to challenge for a podium position with the Irish team over his favorite 10k distance.
It just goes to show you that you are never too old to get involved with running, jogging or walking whether for competition or just for fun.
Well done Albert, and all the very best in Spain next month.
