John Healy is Kildare shot putt champ

John Healy from Kilcullen won the Kildare County Championship U17 Shot Putt yesterday, in a competition held in the indoor arena in Athlone, writes Brian Byrne.

John is the 15-year-old son of Tom and Jackie and is a member of the High Performance Squad for elite athletes.

He is in 3rd Year at CPC and also plays U16 soccer with St Anthony's in Kilcullen, and U16 GAA with the Kilcullen club. His athletics club is Celbridge AC, where he also throws discus.

His sports interest is appreciated by his mum, who played Senior football for Laois in earlier days.
