Great Kilcullen result in the South West Badminton Championships
Mens, Ladies and Mixed Doubles teams have been extremely busy playing games in the Dublin District League and Cup as well as the Southwest Leinster League, writes Tara O'Neill, with some teams lucky enough to have made it through the Dublin Cup semi-finals.
Not content with their already choc-a-bloc schedules, a great amount of club members participated in the Southwest Leinster Championships which took place in a number of different venues across Southwest Leinster on a number of different dates in January. A fantastic six pairings made it through to the finals which took place in Whitehall Road on Saturday 20th of January. Kilcullen were on fire on the night as five out of six of the pairings came home as winners. Well done to the following:
Gillian Kennedy Smith and Gareth Hogan (top) winners of the Grade 2 Mixed.
Tara O’Neill and John McGrane winners of the Grade 3 Mixed.
Sarah Walshe and Jennifer winners of the Grade 3 Ladies.
Bernie Smyth and Dolores winners of the Grade 4 Ladies.
Ross Cole and Teresa McGlynn winners of the Grade 6 Mixed.
Ram Hooda and Teresa McGlynn runners up of the Grade 7 Mixed.
The players will be presented with their prizes at the South West Leinster Badminton League 70th Anniversary Dinner Dance on Saturday 7th of April in The Talbot Hotel Carlow.
