CPC business students win EU video competition

The CPC 5th Year Business Class have won the European Parliament ‘Euroscola Competition’.

In this year’s Euroscola competition students were asked to create a one-minute video clip on 'Why young people should vote in European Elections'. The main purpose of the competition was to get students thinking about European democracy and active citizenship as some of them will vote for the first time in the European Elections in 2019.

The students won a subsidised trip to the European Parliament, Strasbourg to represent Ireland at Euroscola on Thursday 24 May 2018 where young people become an MEP for the day. The group are led by their Business Studies teacher Mr John Tynan.

Of all the videos that conveyed their message through animation, the judges found this one to be 'the most lively and dynamic, combining a range of images, firmly situating the video in the European Parliament and with a clear, strong message'.

Well done all concerned. "We are all very proud of them," says Catherine Moynihan, Principal of CPC.
