Cinema treat next week
People who have memories of Kilcullen's Town Hall Cinema are being invited to share some of their memories at an upcoming showing of the classic Italian film, Cinema Paradiso, writes Brian Byrne.
The film is being shown by Kilcullen Lions on Friday 17 November, and tells the story of a young boy, Salvatore, and his friendship with a local cinema projectionist, Alfredo.
The Town Hall Cinema operated between 1941 and and 1976 and during that time became one of the most popular cinemas in County Kildare.
Entry by donation and the evening will begin at 7.30pm with a wine reception and a discussion of memories of the Kilcullen cinema days.
And a reminder that the Kilcullen Lions Christmas Appeal Street Collection will be held from December 22-24 inclusive, between 9am-1pm.
