CANCELLED. Activity and Fitness programmes for older people
UPDATE: These events have had to be cancelled, due to circumstances beyond the organisers' control. They will be rescheduled for Kilcullen before Christmas, location to be advised.
Two programmes under Kildare County Council's Age Friendly Programmewill be running for three weeks in An Tearmann on Wednesday mornings from 8 November, writes Brian Byrne.
The Activator Programme is aimed at persons with mobility and balance issues and involves activity sessions using activator poles in promoting mobility, posture, strength and balance.They will take place each of the three successive Wednesday mornings between 10am-11.15am. Poles are provided, but numbers are limited.
The Fitsticks Programmewill follow on each of the mornings from 11.30am-12.45pm and involves a series of indoor and outdoor activities exploring the use of Nordic poles in promoting key elements of fitness.
The programmes are free and are in association with the Kildare Sports Partnership and FitWalk Ireland.
All are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend.
