New business buzz in Kilcullen

As well as the usual Saturday morning buzz around Kilcullen, it is good to see signs of new businesses getting close to opening, writes Brian Byrne.

A new cafe in the premises formerly occupied by Simply Devine is due to open in a couple of weeks. With the name 'Crean's Place', it is not a surprise that the proprietor is a fan of the explorer Tom Crean. We understand that it will be themed on the Antarctic hero's epic story.

Across the road we note that the former King's Garden premises has been refurbished. Haven't heard what is opening there, but we expect it will be a similar takeaway establishment.

And back up at the crossroads, work on the Hideout is continuing behind the scenes for new owner Jonathan Keogh. Expect things to happen there sometime in October. (Has Francis Brennan yet reached the part in the script that he 'is worried'?)

It's all go in Kilcullen, again.
