Shortts' garden Open Days this weekend

Francis and Mary Shortt have been holding Open Days in their garden at Old Kilcullen for many years, writes Brian Byrne, but this year it will be special.

Their Open Days have always raised funds for KARE, and this year's event this weekend will be a celebration of KARE's 50th anniversary.

The garden will be open to visitors from 12 noon to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, and admission of €5 includes refreshments. As usual there will be a Cake Sale and a Raffle, and some plants will be available for sale.
