Lorraine Nolan, director of the Kilcullen Gospel Choir, was trying to get the positioning right tonight as the stage was being put in place for tomorrow evening's 'Twilight Chorus' in the market square,

"No, you won't have that space," she told the front row a little later. "Liam O Maonlai will be singing there, and there'll also be four microphones, so you have to go back."
It was all push and pull earlier as the men from the choir and friends of the group moved the steps to and fro until Lorraine was happy with the result.
As well as leading the Gospel Choir in tomorrow's first-time ever public paid concert in the square, all in aid of Pieta House and running in conjunction with the Dawn Walk organised by Lorna Brophy and Richie Kelly and friends, Lorraine will be participating as one of the Newbridge Three Sopranos.
The pretty well sold out concert promises to be one of the musical highlights of the year in Kilcullen. It will be followed by music and a barbecue in O'Connells Bar, again part of the long day of fundraising for the charity.
Meanwhile, there was a good pre-registration this evening for the Dawn Walk. Those who didn't take their chance tonight can still register from 3.30 in the morning.
