St Joseph's Fun Run raises €2,293
The 2017 Fun Run organised by St Joseph’s NS in March raised €2,293 after expenses were deducted, writes Brian Byrne.
This result is somewhat down on the funds raised in previous years for the event, inaugurated in 2014 by Grainne McGrath and friends as a joint fundraiser for the school and St Anne’s School on the Curragh. There were 170 registered entrants for the March run.
This year the Run was organised solely by the Halverstown school’s PTA, following a Board of Management decision last June to ‘go it alone’ with the event. An agreement with St Anne’s was reached in October last that the Curragh School would no longer share the proceeds, but a donation would be made to it.
In April, St Anne’s acknowledged with thanks the receipt of €100 as a donation.
The proceeds to St Joseph’s are being put towards the purchase of new computers for the school.
