Roy sings in his own BAG
Look, he won’t say it himself, but one of the most unmissable of the Ballymore Acoustic Gigs events is the pre-summer break one on Monday night 29 May, when BAGman Roy Thompson himself takes to the stage, writes Brian Byrne.
This marks the end of Roy's sixth year of presenting Roots Music acts from home and around the world in the small village of Ballymore, most of these in Mick Murphy’s Bar.
Building a steady following all the time, and with work continuing on his debut album, 'The Outlines of Memories', Roy will bring a hat-full of new songs, as well as older material.
The Diary won’t be able to make it, but if you can, you should. Doors open 8:30pm, admission €12.
There will be a mid-summer gig in the BAG on Monday 24 July featuring Buddy Mondlock with Mike Lindauer (USA), After that it’s break time until Monday 4 September, when the series reopens with The 4 Of Us.
